Mazen & The Amazing Maize Maze

I’ve waited seven years to jot down that title!!! When Mazen was born I couldn’t wait to take him to a corn maze. He was made for it! On Saturday we went to Liberty Mills Farm about 30 minutes outdoors of Charlottesville. We had ideally suited climate and such a good time. See all that corn behind him beneath? That’s the place we wandered! The mazes cowl 33 acres, and there are three totally different ones in three problem ranges. Check out the video I made right here!!

Heading Into The Corn Maze

I put Birch on my again, which labored out completely, and we tackled the purple path (the medium degree), which lined about 1/three of the whole maze space. The purple maze was speculated to take about an hour, however we have been a lot sooner and completed in about 30 minutes. We did use the map although, which helped rather a lot. It didn’t define the direct path, however you would select your turns based mostly on the map and that helped to present a way of course.

There have been additionally some examine factors you would peek into to see should you have been the place you thought you have been. These have been nice for Mazen to check to the map.

Mazen’s shirt is from Mini Boden!

We went by way of the smallest maze on the finish (yellow), and we loved strolling by way of the enormous letters of “Liberty Mills Farm.”

Kids Activities

Afterwards the boys loved enjoying within the hay bales, and we picked out pumpkins!

Maze in maze; Birch in birch!

Family Dinner at Kardinal Hall

We had had a lighter lunch earlier within the day, and regardless of skipping his afternoon nap, Birch was nonetheless in a very good temper, so we headed to Kardinal Hall for dinner – at four:00pm!! Why not?!

I had my first Pumking of the season, and we performed the sport of LIFE with Mazey. For dinner I had a scrumptious kale salad and french fries – the very best combo!

Fall Decorations

Back at house we embellished the home for Halloween with our new pumpkins and spider webs for the bushes.

This bush is now stuffed with 100 plastic spiders!!

Here Today, Gone Tomorrow

We have been so glad to get in a whole lot of high quality household time on Saturday as a result of on Sunday I used to be up nicely earlier than dawn to fly to California! I’m scripting this put up on the way in which to the Ojai Valley Inn with Beautycounter for three days! I can’t wait to share all the main points from this journey.

This is my first time away from Birch (in his LIFE – sob!), and it’s fairly bittersweet! I’m very a lot trying ahead to sleeping in and stress-free by the pool, however I felt so responsible placing him in his crib Saturday night time understanding he may miss me within the morning. Mazen was unhappy for me to go away too, however he’s sufficiently old to grasp that I’ll be gone for a number of days after which come again. I hope all goes nicely whereas I’m gone with bottles and plenty of daddy + grandma time! Thomas has assist from Nona and our babysitter (so he can work 2/three days) and Mazen will likely be in school and with Matt, so they’re all in nice arms.

Halfway Weaning

This journey is a giant turning level marking the tip of the primary 12 months. Birch is only a week shy of turning one, so whereas I do have my pump with me in case I want it (I’ll most likely use it as soon as a day) I gained’t be saving any milk. Up to now Birch has been nursing morning and night time, and he’ll be getting bottles of the final of the milk within the freezer whereas I’m gone. (I believe there are 10 baggage of milk, however he may solely get morning bottles.) I do hope to proceed breastfeeding once I return (possibly simply within the mornings?) however we’ll need to see what occurs.
